Refund policy
Overview
We want you to be happy with your order. This store operates as a working artist shop, and many items available are Lee Garbett’s personal comp copies, signed items, or limited editions.
As such, these products differ from standard retail inventory. This policy explains how returns and refunds are handled fairly for both customers and the artist.
Comp Copies, Signed Items & Condition
Many comics and items on the store are personal comp copies. Minor handling, printing, or storage quirks are normal and are not considered defects.
These items are intended for collecting and display rather than guaranteed grading outcomes.
If condition is important, you may request photos of the exact item before purchase.
We are not professional graders, and items are not guaranteed to meet third-party grading standards (including CGC).
Defective vs Non-Defective Returns
We distinguish between defective/incorrect items and non-defective returns.
Defective or Incorrect Items
Examples include:
- Wrong item sent
- Missing signature or personalisation (if purchased)
- Major damage (e.g. deep colour-breaking creases, tears, crushed corners, significant foil damage)
These items may be returned for a replacement or refund.
If a replacement is not available, a refund will be issued including applicable postage.

Non-Defective Returns (Change of Mind / Preference / Condition)
United Kingdom
Accepted within 30 days of delivery.
- Return postage is the customer’s responsibility
- Items must be returned in the same condition as sent
International Orders (Non-UK)
Non-defective returns are not accepted due to shipping distances and customs processes.
Condition or grading-related returns are not accepted on international orders.
Signed, Limited & Original Items
Signed, limited, exclusive, artist proof (AP), or one-of-a-kind items may only be returned if:
- Defective or incorrect, or
- Agreed in advance
Original Artwork
Original artwork is unique and may include natural signs of the creative process, including light handling marks, pencil lines, corrections, or minor surface variations.
Condition is subjective and part of the nature of original art. These are not considered defects.
Original artwork is non-returnable unless:
- The wrong item was sent, or
- The artwork arrives with significant damage not present at dispatch
If condition is important, you may request additional photos before purchase.
Merchandise (T-shirts, Books, Accessories)
Standard merchandise may be returned within 30 days if unused and in original condition.
- Return postage is the customer’s responsibility unless defective
- For exchanges (e.g. size), the quickest option is to return and reorder

- Order number
- Item(s) to return
- Reason for return
- Photos (if damaged/defective)
Condition of Returned Items
Items must be returned in the same condition as sent.
We may decline a refund if items are returned altered or in reduced condition.
Arrival, Inspection & Refunds
Once received and inspected, we will confirm if the return is approved.
Refunds are issued to the original payment method. Processing times may vary depending on your payment provider.
Damaged in Transit
If your order arrives damaged, contact us promptly with photos of:
- Outer packaging
- The item
This helps us resolve the issue quickly.
Non-Returnable Items
The following cannot be returned:
- Personalised items
- Digital goods
- Gift cards
- Items marked as final sale
- Non-UK non-defective returns
